Capabilities

AIM brings CNC milling, turning, wire EDM and dimensional inspection together under one roof in Lichfield. Our engineering team builds the production route around each component — its geometry, material, tolerance, quantity and quality requirements — so complex parts move through machining and inspection as one controlled, traceable process.

Capabilities

Four Capabilities, One Controlled Process

Each capability has its own detail and specifications. Start here, then go deeper into the one you need.

5-Axis Ø500 · Large-format 1.3 m

CNC Milling

Simultaneous 5-axis machining for complex, multi-face parts, plus large-format vertical milling for heavy prismatic work.

Ø366 × 705 mm · bar to Ø80

CNC Turning

Compact precision turning through to larger, longer chuck and bar work, held to tight, concentric tolerances.

Workpiece to 750 × 550 × 215

Wire EDM

Wire erosion for intricate profiles, narrow slots and fully hardened materials, with almost no cutting force.

CMM 1,000 × 1,500 × 700 mm

Inspection and CMM

CNC coordinate measuring from first-off to final inspection, with FAI reporting and full traceability.

Integrated

One Coordinated Route

Components needing more than one process move through a single coordinated route, reducing external handovers and keeping manufacturing and inspection requirements part of one controlled process:

  • CNC turning
  • Three-axis milling
  • Simultaneous 5-axis machining
  • Wire EDM
  • In-process inspection
  • CMM measurement
  • Final quality release

Materials

Materials We Machine

Subject to a technical review of geometry, tolerance and heat-treatment condition, AIM machines a broad range of metals and engineering plastics:

  • Aluminium and aluminium alloys
  • Carbon and alloy steels
  • Stainless steels
  • Tool steels
  • Cast iron
  • Copper, brass and bronze
  • Titanium and specialist alloys
  • Engineering plastics

Production Volumes

The same controlled process and inspection route covers every quantity:

  • One-off and development parts
  • Engineering prototypes
  • Bridge manufacturing
  • Low- and medium-volume production
  • Repeat and scheduled batches
  • Legacy and replacement parts
