AIM is growing, and we are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer to strengthen our advanced CNC machining team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing machining strategies, generating toolpaths, improving manufacturing efficiency, and supporting project estimation activities. You will work closely with our CNC machining, quality, and engineering teams while also communicating with external suppliers and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop effective manufacturing strategies for CNC milling and turning operations.
- Create accurate and efficient toolpaths using Fusion 360 CAM.
- Work with CNC machine controllers, including FANUC, Siemens, and Mazatrol, to refine and validate machining processes.
- Support project estimation, job costing, and planning activities using a leading ERP system.
- Optimise cycle times, tooling selection, and machining workflows to improve productivity.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, material suppliers, and external partners to ensure smooth delivery of projects.
- Assist production and quality teams in delivering precision components to aerospace-level standards.
Skills & Experience
- Strong background in CNC machining process development for both milling and turning.
- Proficient in Fusion 360 for CAM programming and toolpath optimisation.
- Experience working with FANUC, Siemens, or Mazatrol-controlled machines.
- Ability to analyse machining challenges and implement practical, efficient solutions.
- Confident communicating with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Knowledge of ERP systems for estimation and production planning is highly desirable.
- Experience within aerospace, defence, automotive, or precision engineering sectors is an advantage.

Hours and Environment
- Thirty-eight hours a week, Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm (with a 30-minute lunch break).
- Fridays, 7:30 am to 11:30 am.
- Standard 21 days of annual leave plus statutory bank holidays.
